Grants.
Bexley Chamber of Commerce
At the beginning of 2024, the Whitehall-Bexley Rotary Club gave a grant of $1,000 to the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce to go towards the Chamber's purchase of an AED medical device for their offices. This Chamber / Rotary investment is the beginning of a larger city-wide initiative known as HEARTSafe Bexley. The Rotary Club and Chamber are looking forward to helping promote this program in the months and years to come.
Move to Prosper
In 2023, Whitehall Bexley Rotary contributed $10,000 to Move to PROSPER, a three-year program that empowers low-wage families and their children to gain economic security, and the results have been amazing. The pilot program families were able to raise their incomes by 58%, and watching their children’s grades improve to a similar degree. This program equips families with tools needed to flourish, including career and financial coaching. The partial rental support enables the families to move to neighborhoods with quality housing, better schools and a safe environment for their children. And the best part? After the three years, each family has thus far been able to continue to grow and prosper-on their own.
Heart of Ohio Family Health
The WB Rotary Club was honored to contribute $10,000 in 2022 to the opening of the James B. Feibel Center on East Main in Whitehall. This facility staffs medical professionals for folks from all walks of life and of any economic status. From women’s health and maternity care to counseling, from an onsite pharmacy to nutritional programs, it’s a full-spectrum service to the community. Stay tuned to hear about an upcoming dental facility.
Whitehall Community Park YMCA
In 2019, the Whitehall Community Park opened its doors to the community. Offering activities to all ages – from pre-school to senior citizens – it’s an organization the WB Rotary was proud to honor. In 2021, we donated $10,000 for the development of an indoor climbing wall. This has truly become a community “gathering place for all.”
The Foundation will consider grants at any time during the club fiscal year. In order to be considered a grant request must specifically and directly benefit the Columbus East Side Community served by the Whitehall/Bexley Rotary Club. That geographic area is enclosed by Alum Creek on the west; Fifth Avenue on the North; I-270 on the East and Refugee Road on the South. Applications which do not directly serve this area and persons therein will not be considered.
